Auto Quantization Macro for Cubase
A really nifty feature that Cubase offers over the competition is fully customizable macros.
Macros are commands that execute a series of instructions. A simple example would be if you wanted to "break" a section of audio. Normally you would have to manually cut at either end where you want it cut. A "break" macro would involve using the selection tool to highlight an area you want to break, followed by cutting, and pasting it back in. But instead of having to go ctrl/cmd+x then ctrl/cmd+v, this macro could be assigned to ctrl/cmd+shift+x and execute the two cutting and pasting commands in one keystroke.
By doing this you are taking mutliple commands and turning them into a unified, single command. Which is essentially like adding your own new features to the software. Pretty cool right?
Moving on to a more practical example would be creating an auto quantization macro. I believe Cubase 7 added this feature, so this would only apply to Cubase 6 users and below. You can visit my partner website for a complete transcription of the tutorial.
